Jandy Air Energy In-Ground Pool Heat Pumps

The Jandy Air Energy in-ground pool heat pumps are a great way to economically heat your pool and extend the pool season. Jandy Pool Products Inc. has been producing products for pools since the 1950’s and with their 2003 acquisition of Air Energy Heat Pumps Inc. they have become an industry leader in heat pumps for heating swimming pools .

The Jandy Air Energy in-ground pool heat pumps extract existing heat from the ambient air surrounding the heat pump unit and transfer that heat into pool water being pumped through the heat pumps heat exchanger by the pool filter using a reverse refrigeration process. This is much more economical than heating a pool by electrical resistance heating or, heating by burning fuels such as oil or, gas. Since the heat pump is merely transferring existing heat and not producing it the cost is substantially lower and you can save up to 80% on your pool heating costs.

Jandy Air Energy in-ground pool heat pumps are available in 4 basic model sizes and have additional models built off of the 4 basic models that have heating and cooling to keep the pool water temperatures lower on the hottest summer days maintaining comfort and lower operating costs keeping evaporation in check. Jandy also has additional models, which operate on 3-phase electrical power for use in commercial applications. Jandy Air Energy in-ground pool heat pumps are available in sizes from 73,000 up to 135,000 BTU and have a Coefficient Of Performance (COP) ranging from 5.4 to 5.9 meaning they put over 5 times the heat into the water than the energy they consume would produce. This means they are an incredibly efficient way to heat the pool.

Jandy Air Energy in-ground pool heat pumps have a titanium heat exchanger for a long service life and a high resistance to pool chemicals and erosion from water flow. They also have a UV resistant plastic cabinet to ensure the cabinet will last in the wet environment outdoors beside the pool area and also because the heat pump in operation will produce 3 to 5 gallons per hour of condensate. The heat pumps have a digital control panel, which controls the temperature and monitors the operating status of the unit including displaying fault codes when there is a problem. All of the Jandy heat pumps handle water flows from 30 to 125 gallons per minute and have a built in bypass assembly which controls the flow through the heater for optimum operation. The Jandy heat pumps use scroll compressors which are the present industry standard to compressor design and offer much lower noise levels than older style compressors, in fact the sound pressure from the unit when measured in accordance with ISO-3471 is just 58.9 dbA. The temperature differential can be controlled from the digital control panel and be set from 1 to 5 degrees F depending on how tight you wish to control the temperature of your pool.
